◘ TYPE OF EXCURSION: Sceneries ◘ DIFFICULTY: Easy ◘ TYPE OF SERVICE: Group Service (18 participants) ◘ TYPE OF TRANSPORT: Van ◘ DURATION: 9 hours ITINERARY ► AM – DISCOVERY & HIGHLIGHTS ○ Start your adventure at 6:00 am with a scenic drive toward the highlands. ○ Along the way, you make a stop for breakfast (not included) before continuing to the traditional town of Chiguata. ○ Visit the historic sillar church of Chiguata, an elegant volcanic‑stone landmark framed by Andean landscapes. ○ The journey continues into the Salinas and Aguada Blanca Reserve, where the scenery opens into the dazzling SALINAS SALT PLAINS—vast, bright, and stretching endlessly toward the horizon. These high‑Andean salt flats create a surreal, mirror‑like landscape perfect for unforgettable photos. ○ As you explore the reserve, enjoy wildlife encounters with Vicuñas, as well as wild families of Llamas and Alpacas grazing freely across the plains. ○ For travelers seeking something extra, an optional stop offers access to natural hot springs and the chance to witness the impressive thermal water outflows from a volcano, a striking reminder of the region’s living geology. ► PM – LOCAL FLAVORS & RETURN ○ Around midday, enjoy free time for lunch at a local restaurant (not included), where regional dishes and Andean hospitality complete the experience. ○ After lunch, begin the return journey, taking in final views of the salt plains, wildlife, and surrounding volcanoes as the road descends toward the city. ○ Arrival in AREQUIPA is scheduled for approximately 3:00 pm, closing a day filled with iconic landscapes, wildlife encounters, and the unforgettable brilliance of Peru’s high‑altitude salt flats.
