ABOUT THE DIFFERENT CIRCUITS TO VISIT MACHU PICCHU CITADEL To visit the Machu Picchu sanctuary, the Peruvian government has divided the tour into three circuits to minimize the impact of visitors on the Inca citadel. These three circuits have the following characteristics: ○ CIRCUIT 1: Allows you to visit the viewpoint for classic photos, which can be seen on online postcards; however, it does NOT allow you to visit and walk around the Inca citadel. ○ CIRCUIT 2: This is the most popular option. It allows you to visit the viewpoint for classic photos, and you can also visit and walk around the Inca citadel. ○ CIRCUIT 3: Allows you to visit the Inca citadel; however, it does NOT allow you to climb the viewpoint for classic photos. Please note that circuits 1 and 3 are subdivided (A, B, C, etc.) since with them you can climb the surrounding mountains such as Machu Picchu Mountain (not to be confused with the name of the Inca citadel as they are synonyms), Huayna Picchu Mountain, etc. in which the price may vary slightly.
