HALF-DAY TOUR TO MARAS AND MORAY ✦ Type of Excursion: Fotography, Nature ✦ Difficulty: Easy ✦ Service: Group Tour (18 max.) ✦ Transport: Van ✦ Duration: 5 Hours ✦ Schedule: 8:30 AM ◘ ITINERARY The half-day tour to Maras and Moray begins at 8:30 a.m. with a visit to the artisan centre in the village of Chinchero, where local families offer a demonstration of the traditional dyeing and weaving process used in their textiles, preserving ancestral techniques that remain alive today. The journey then continues to the Maras Salt Mines, a striking ensemble of thousands of salt pools that form one of the most unique landscapes in the Sacred Valley and have been exploited since pre-Inca times. Finally, the tour visits the agricultural terraces of Moray, an ancient agricultural laboratory made up of circular terraces that reveal the Incas’ advanced understanding of crop experimentation and microclimates. The return to the city of Cusco is scheduled for around 2:00 p.m., concluding a morning filled with culture, history, and impressive scenery. Please read "FAQ". ✘ Entrance ticket to the salt mines of Maras ◘ FAQ ♦ About the tourist ticket (BTC) ○ The BTC is mandatory and grants access to 16 attractions in Cusco and nearby areas (museums, archaeological sites, cultural centers). ○ It is not valid for Machu Picchu and can be purchased at each site or added during booking. ○ Types of BTC → General Ticket (10 days): Includes all 16 attractions (Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Moray, museums, etc.). Partial Tickets: → Circuit 1: Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay. → Circuit 2: Museums and cultural centers in Cusco. → Circuit 3: Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, Moray. ○ Prices: S/70 (partial) to S/130 (general). ○ Available for purchase at each attraction or as an add‑on. ♦ About the ticket to the Salt Mines of Maras ○ The Maras Salt Mines ticket is not included in the BTC. ○ It must be purchased separately for about S/20 (7 USD) on-site or added during booking. ♦ About meals during the activity ○ Meals are not included.
