4:00 AM – Departure from Cusco
The excursion begins with early hotel pick-up from accommodations located within central Cusco, followed by the journey towards Cusipata.

6:00 AM – Breakfast in Cusipata
A traditional breakfast is served in Cusipata before the journey continues by road towards the starting point of the hike.

8:00 AM – Arrival at the Trailhead & Start of the Hike
The hike begins from the trailhead and continues for approximately two hours towards Rainbow Mountain. The route passes through high-Andean landscapes, with views of local wildlife and the surrounding mountains, including Ausangate.

10:00 AM – Arrival at Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca)
Upon reaching the main viewpoint, time is provided to observe the distinctive colours of Vinicunca and the surrounding mountain scenery, as well as for photography.

10:30 AM – Optional Visit to Red Valley Viewpoint
An optional detour is available to the Red Valley viewpoint, providing additional panoramic views of the surrounding high-altitude landscape.

If you choose to visit the Red Valley viewpoint, please keep in mind that you will do so on your own. It does not present a significant difficulty, as it is located just 200 meters from Vinicunca Mountain and the trail is perfectly signposted. Our guide will provide you with the necessary instructions to return to the group. Additionally, it is important to note that visiting the Red Valley will take place during your free time on the mountain, meaning your remaining free time at the main summit will be shorter.
11:00 AM – Descent to the Trailhead
The return hike begins along the same mountain route and takes approximately two hours.
1:00 PM – Arrival at the Trailhead & Departure
Upon completion of the hike, the return journey continues by road towards Cusipata.
1:45 PM – Lunch in Cusipata
Lunch is served in Cusipata before continuing the return journey to Cusco.
3:00 PM – Return Journey to Cusco
The journey continues by road from Cusipata towards Cusco.
5:00 PM – Arrival in Cusco
The excursion concludes upon arrival in Cusco.

MY ACCOMMODATION IS OUTSIDE CENTRAL CUSCO ○ For accommodations located outside the standard pick-up area, a designated meeting point can be arranged in Cusco’s historic centre. ○ Private transportation may also be arranged for an additional fee.
ABOUT THE RED VALLEY ENTRANCE FEE ○ Admission to the Red Valley is optional and requires a separate entrance ticket. ○ The entrance fee may be added during the booking process or purchased directly at the site. The cost is S/30 (approximately USD 11) per person.
ABOUT BREAKFAST & LUNCH ○ Breakfast and lunch are included in the tour. Vegetarian options are available for both meals. ○ Any additional dietary requirements or restrictions can be indicated at the time of booking.
ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION DURING THE HIKE ○ The hike takes place at high altitude, reaching approximately 5,000 metres above sea level (16,404 feet). For participants who prefer not to complete the route entirely on foot, horses or quad bikes may be available for hire from independent local providers. ○ These services are not operated or provided by PERÚ Sceneries and must be arranged directly with the local providers. Prices generally range from S/70 to S/90 (approximately USD 25–30) per person and may vary according to demand. ○ Any incident or unforeseen circumstance arising from the use of these independently operated services is the responsibility of the participant and the respective local provider.
CHANGES, CANCELLATIONS AND REFUND POLICIES 1.- CHANGE OF TRAVEL DATE ○ Changes to the travel date are accepted up to 24 hours before the scheduled start of the activity. 2.- CANCELLATIONS ○ Cancellations requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled activity are eligible for a full refund. ○ Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled activity are non-refundable. ○ In cases of force majeure, including strikes, social unrest, natural disasters, or other circumstances beyond the control of the company or the traveler, a refund may be considered. The refundable amount will depend on the circumstances and any costs already incurred. 3.- REFUNDS ○ Refunds for payments made by credit or debit card may take several business days to appear, depending on the issuing bank. Please note that transaction fees charged by local banks or the cardholder’s bank may be deducted from the refunded amount.
